What does it mean to be godly? It is the need to grow closer to God, to live a life trusting God & His Word, and to live your life according to His purpose. 

The fact is…no one is perfect, not even Christians! Humans are sinful by nature and have been ever since the beginning of time. Read about The First Sin & God’s Judgment in Genesis 3:1‭-‬24 

Only Jesus lived a sinless life, and he did so even though he was ridiculed, tortured, mocked, hated, and put to death. He was crucified & rose again so that we would be forgiven of our sins and live eternity in heaven. Hallelujah..Thank You Jesus! Read Paul’s Message of Wisdom.

What can you do to become godly or more godly-like? There are many things you can do to “grow in Christ,” but first you must obey God’s Commandments. Read Exodus 20:1‭-‬21

  • Accept Jesus Christ as your savior
  • Pray (talk to God)
  • Listen to God
  • Thank God for your blessings…DAILY!
  • Read the Bible
  • Go to church
  • Be His disciple
  • Love others
  • Help others
  • Be forgiving
  • Repent of your sins
  • Recognize that God forgives
  • Worship God-Put God first
  • Worship God through song & music
  • Have a relationship with God
  • Surround yourself with godly people
  • Join a Bible study
  • Join a youth group
  • Get baptized (If you haven’t already?)
  • Trust God with all things

{Romans 12:21} Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

With God you are born twice & die once.

{John 3:3‭-‬8} Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.  Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.  So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”

{1 Peter 1:23‭-‬25} For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. As the Scriptures say, “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.

As you grow in Christ, you will see your life change miraculously, you will appreciate the blessings that God has given you & you will feel His unconditional love for you! It’s an amazing feeling to know that you have an intimate relationship with God & that God’s got you! 

{Philippians 4:13} For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Your courage & strength will go to a whole new level knowing that your strength comes from God…that with God anything is POSSIBLE! 

{Matthew 19:26} Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

Prayer: Dear Lord, Please lead me to grow closer to you! Show me the path that pleases you & guide me to see the goodness in being a faithful believer! {Psalms 23:1‭-‬6} The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. AMEN!
