Mother's Day

Mother’s Day

Mother's Day

I absolutely love this picture, Song of the Angels, by William Adolphe Bouguereau. It reminds me of a story that I love that I read years ago ♡

A baby asked God, “They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so helpless and small?” God said, “Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.” The baby asked, “Who will protect me?” God said, “Your angel will defend you, even if it means she has to risk her own life.” The baby asked, “God, please tell me my angel’s name?” God replied, “You will simply call her mommy.”

This story warms my heart, for this is EXACTLY how I feel about my sweet sons, my blessings! As a very young girl, I was always “mothering” everyone and anyone. I loved to play “house” and I would have my siblings, cousins, friends, and anyone else that would join in my fantasy, “play my kids”, so I could play the “mommy” and take care of them! Since I can remember, my dream was to be a wife and mommy. I can proudly say that I have accomplished this dream, and I feel so blessed to be able to love, protect, and raise these “gifts” from God with my wonderful husband! To have the chance to raise them with faith, integrity, values, compassion, empathy, morals and respect, to help encourage and mold them into the best men they can be, men of God (my ultimate goal for them). My love for my boys is above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined, a love like I have NEVER felt before. The strength of my love for them is so strong that I can feel the “butterflies” in my heart when they are happy & the ache in my heart when they hurt! And, although, I feel like a failure at times, and I have made plenty of mistakes, I cherish “motherhood” like nothing else! I cherish the happy, the sad, the memories, the milestones, and above all, I cherish them…my little blessings sent from God!

When a child is born, a mother is also born.

So when I celebrate Mother’s Day, I also celebrate the day that God entrusted me with these little “angels” to care for, protect, and love! From the day my boys were born, not only was I blessed with the most amazing “gift”, but also my dream of being a mother! Wishing everyone a very blessed Mother’s day! May you be abundantly blessed with love & happiness! image
