Love is patient when the person cuts you off in traffic. Love is kind when someone says a harsh word. Love is not envious when someone else gets something you want. Love does not boast when something good happens to you.
Love is not arrogant when you think you’re better at something than someone else. Love is not rude when someone does something disrespectful. Love does not insist on it’s own way when you think differently than someone. Love is not irritable when you’ve been up all night with your child. Love is not resentful when your husband or friend gets to do something that you don’t get to. Love does not rejoice when someone messes up.
Love rejoices with the truth-always. Love bears all things even when you don’t think you can bear any more. Love believes all things when it’s hard to have faith. Love hopes all things when everything seems hopeless. Love endures all things even when it’s incredibly painful. Love is all of these things because Christ is all of these things.
If you want to see an example of this lived out, you need not look any further than the life of Christ. Ask God to help you love like Christ does.
