Fight or Retreat?

When we go through tough times, it is easy to blame ourselves, others & God. Some of us may lose faith in God & ponder the idea that “He allowed this to happen to us.” Some of us have been through many extreme circumstances & wonder how much more the Lord could possibly allow us to endure?

•Job 7:20•
~If I have sinned, what have I done to you, O watcher of all humanity? Why make me your target? Am I a burden to you?

Let’s face it, it is easier to retreat than to stand up and fight! And at times we may feel as though our Lord has abandoned us, and our faith may be broken down & blame may be thrown around. That is when the Lord wants us to dig deeper & have faith in Him & his unfailing love. That is when he wants us to stand back up & fight..and to fight hard!

Have you ever heard, “God won’t give me more than I can handle, I just wish he didn’t trust me so much?” I know I have said this many times throughout my life.
God gives us battles to fight so we may build our character, faith, and strength & so we learn to appreciate our victories.
But God doesn’t control everything that happens to us. We have choices & from those choices comes consequences, whether good or bad. That is why it is so important to make the “right” choices!

Jesus lived a human life and endured much more pain than he ever deserved. He sought out to live a sinless life, yet Jesus was still belittled, mocked, beaten, and put to death.

•Luke 22:63•
~The guards in charge of Jesus began mocking and beating him.

Many times he cried out to God in anguish, feeling as if God had abandoned him, too.

•Mark 15:34 & Matthew 27:46•
~Then at three o’clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

But, Jesus chose to endure & fight, and in the end, he was victorious!
When we endure tough times in our lives, it is up to US to decide whether to stand back up and fight, or lay down & retreat. After all, what would have happened if Jesus would have retreated instead of fighting toward his victory? We would all be doomed to lives full of sin & unforgiveness, eluding the chance at eternal life. Praise Jesus for his victory!!!!

God has no control over the consequences of our actions, but He will give us the strength to stand back up & fight!

•Philippians 4:13•
~I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.

So when tough times emerge (and they will), will you stand up & fight or retreat? Don’t ever give up…get back and FIGHT!

Love & Blessings -Blessed Mama ❤
